It then focuses on challenging the OCD by exposure response prevention (Facing your fears and not doing anything in response). There are exercises for the child and a section at the end of each chapter which explains how families can help. It is written simply for young people to understand and has black and white pictures throughout.
The chapters I use the most are on exposure response prevention. It helps to break down a young person’s fears into manageable parts so they feel more in control of the situation. There is also a chapter on overcoming difficulties which commonly occurs with OCD.
This book is suitable for young people aged 13-18 and parents.
