What to expect

Prior to meeting with you, your therapist can arrange a phone call to answer any questions that you may have…

The first two sessions of therapy are to assess you or your child’s current difficulties and the impact they are having on family life. It is also a great chance to see if you get on well with your therapist and think they could help you. From there, sessions continue on a weekly basis for one hour at a time and a course of therapy usually lasts from five to twenty weeks. Due to COVID restrictions, all therapy is based remotely. Scientific evidence has shown that remote therapy works just as well as face to face sessions. The bonus is that you can be comfortable in your own home with a brew!

In very special circumstances and following a risk assessment, we are able to hold walk and talk therapy sessions. Please feel free to contact us to discuss this.

Please note that all staff at Fresh Thinking Therapy are unable to offer crisis support. If you or your child feel at risk of harming yourself or someone else, please speak to your GP, attend your local NHS A&E department or contact the Samaritans.

Treatment Fees

Play Therapy, Integrative Therapy and Personal Centred Counselling £40 per hour
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy starts from
£75 per hour

Missed or cancelled appointments with less than 24 hours notice are charged at half price.
